Adding a lien
Florida statutes provide that a person may file a notice of lien with regard to a motor vehicle, mobile home, or boat. The date of filing the notice of lien will be the date of its receipt by the tax collector's office. For documentation requirements and instructions, read the Florida Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles' lien addition publication.
If you're a Manatee County resident (or a Manatee County business with a physical address in Manatee County), you have two convenient processing options.
To process online, use our Online Application for Notice of Lien.
To process by mail, complete the lien addition form and mail it with your payment to the address below. Lienholders adding a lien to a title for a Manatee County resident may also choose this option.
Manatee County Tax Collector
PO Box 25300
Bradenton FL 34206-5300
To calculate your fees, see our motor vehicle fees page. Make sure you choose the correct fees, which are different for an electronic title than for a paper title. Make your check payable to Ken Burton, Jr., Tax Collector.
These options are available only to Manatee County residents. If you live in another county, or if you're a lienholder adding a lien for a customer that lives in another county, contact that county's tax collector office to add a lien.
Satisfying a lien
Florida statutes contain rules and regulations for satisfying a recorded lien and for alternate methods of removing a recorded lien. For documentation requirements and instructions, read the Florida Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles' lien satisfaction publication.
Our office does not process lien satisfactions by mail. If your title is electronic, read our electronic title publication for lien satisfaction information.
