Temporary Protected Status (TPS)

Are you in the United States under Temporary Protected Status (TPS)?

To be issued a driver license or ID card under TPS, you must present all documents in one of the following categories. Additional documents are required if you have never been issued a Florida driver license or ID card, or are making changes. Refer to the Non-US Citizen (Non-Immigrant) publication (https://helpcenter.taxcollector.com/hc/en-us/articles/26722103523597) for additional requirements.
 
Length of issuance will vary based on country and category, but will never exceed 1 year. All documents are subject to verification. 

Note: All documents presented must be original.

CATEGORY A

 

1. Expired Employment Authorization (EAD) Card with code A12 or C19
2. Valid passport (required if you have not been issued a Florida driver license or ID card within the last 18 months)

CATEGORY B

 

1. Expired I-797 for I-821 Approval Notice (expiration date is subject to verification)
2. Valid passport (required if you have not been issued a Florida driver license or ID card within the last 18 months)

CATEGORY C

1. Valid Employment Authorization (EAD) Card with code A12 or C19 

CATEGORY D

1. Valid I-797 for I-821 Approval Notice
2. Valid passport (required if you have not been issued a Florida driver license or ID card within the last 18 months)

CATEGORY E

 

1. Pending I-797 for I-821
2. Valid passport (required if you have not been issued a Florida driver license or ID card within the last 18 months)
