Driving Skills Road Test Information and Instructions - Interpreter

If you are scheduling a driving test and you are using an interpreter, they must be present in the office before you check in for your appointment. An interpreter will not be provided by our office. All driving tests will be administered in English. The customer shall ensure that the interpreter he/she uses is fluent in English and the foreign language. If the customer hires an interpreter for their driving test, they will be responsible for covering the costs associated with the interpreter's services.

Requirements

Requirements for serving as an interpreter during the Driving Skills Road Test:

  • Must be 18 years of age or older
  • Must present valid identification
  • Must read, complete, and sign the Interpreter Affidavit

Customers are free to use any interpretive services they choose and are not restricted to the companies or individuals listed below. To help, we've provided a list of interpreters who have previously assisted other customers in our office. Please note that these companies and/or individuals are not affiliated with the Manatee County Tax Collector in any way.

Additionally, the Manatee County Tax Collector reserves the right, at its sole discretion, to refuse any interpreter service if it is deemed disruptive, ineffective, or non-compliant with the office's rules and protocols. If this occurs, the customer will have the option to reschedule their driving test or other requested services.
