At the Manatee County Tax Collector’s Office you can renew your Florida concealed weapon license or apply for an original Florida concealed weapon license. Additional services now include fingerprinting only and photo only services. All processing and determinations regarding an applicant’s eligibility for licensure will be made by FDACS, which is a separate agency from the tax collector’s office.
At this time, you cannot apply for a replacement license at our office. If your license has been lost, stolen, destroyed, or your name has changed, you can obtain a replacement license by mailing your request or by visiting one of their regional offices (https://www.fdacs.gov/Divisions-Offices/Licensing/Regional-Offices). Schedule an appointment
Appointments are required for all transactions! Visit taxcollector.com to schedule an appointment for a Florida Concealed Weapon License. This transaction is only processed at our Driver License Office located at 904 301 Boulevard West, Bradenton, FL 34205.
Note: If you currently hold a concealed weapon license from another state, you must schedule your appointment as an Original.
Original application requirements
You must present the following documents to apply for an original license:

A valid driver license or state-issued identification card.

You must also bring the following if any of these circumstances apply to you:

If you were born outside the United States, or if you are a permanent legal resident alien, you will need to bring official documentation with you that confirms your citizenship status. Please review eligibility information (https://www.fdacs.gov/Consumer-Resources/Concealed-Weapon-License/Applying-for-a-Concealed-Weapon-License/Eligibility-Requirements) concerning citizenship requirements.

Active military – Copy of your Common Access Card or other form of official military identification. We will also accept a copy of your current orders as proof of active duty status.

Honorably discharged veterans - Copy of your DD-214 long form.

If you have ever been arrested, you should bring certified copies of the court documentation reflecting the final disposition of the charge(s) filed against you.

If you are currently employed as a law enforcement officer, correctional officer or correctional probation officer with a Florida law enforcement agency and you are applying as such, you will need to provide a copy of an official document stating that you are currently employed with that agency as such.

If you are a retired law enforcement officer, correctional officer or correctional probation officer from a Florida law enforcement agency and you are applying as such, you will need to provide a copy of an official document that includes your date of retirement and the agency from which you retired. This does not extend to federal law enforcement or out-of-state law enforcement retirees.
Renewal requirements
Your Florida concealed weapon or firearm license is valid for a period of seven years. Approximately 95 days prior to the expiration date of your license, the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services (FDACS) will send you a renewal form with complete instructions on how to renew your license.
You must present the following documents to apply for a renewal license:

A valid driver license or state-issued identification card.

Renewal notice or your Concealed weapon license/number.

For changes to your name, please provide a copy of your marriage certificate, divorce decree or court documentation.
If you fail to renew your license by its expiration date, you may renew it up to 180 days after it has expired. However, there is a late fee of $15 for renewing after the expiration date.
If your license has been expired for longer than 180 days, it cannot be renewed. If you want a license, you must apply for a new license.

Fingerprinting Only and Photo Only requirements
Our office assists with the application process by offering fingerprinting only and photo only services for applicants who have submitted their application to the Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services.
You must present the following documents to apply for fingerprinting only or photo only services:
- A valid driver license or state-issued identification card.
- Proof of submission to the Division of Licensing.
- Printed receipt showing your detailed information in order to obtain this service.
Acceptable payment methods and estimated fees
Your fees may vary based on the specifics of your transaction. The cost for an original concealed weapon license is $119.00, while renewals for Florida residents are $57.00, which includes a tax collector convenience fee of $22.00 for original applications and $12.00 for renewals. Fingerprint only fee is $51.00 which includes a $9.00 tax collector convenience fee. Photo only fee is the $9.00 tax collector convenience fee. We accept cash, check, debit cards, and credit cards. A processing fee applies if you pay by debit card or credit card. For debit cards, the fee is $2.50. For credit cards, the fee is 2.5% with a minimum of $2.50. Our office does not retain any portion of this fee.
